Look beyond the building style: location, room facilities, meals and the day's itinerary determine whether a stay suits you.
A lodge generally uses permanent buildings; a tented camp uses tent structures, with facilities that vary widely. Neither label is a reliable comfort rating.
A mobile camp can move with its operating schedule. Confirm its location for your dates, sleeping and bathroom facilities, power, water, baggage arrangements and rules after dark.
Inside or outside a park is only one part of the decision. Consider the area you want to explore, entry timing, your route and how many nights you stay.
For a beach stay, compare the coast, activities and the way you want to unwind. Transport and dining need a different conversation from a wildlife camp.
Ask about the room and beds, bathroom, hot water, charging, meal times, walking distances and assistance after dark. Check child policies and family rooms rather than judging by photographs alone.
